Your archive
Year in Sport reads the archive you choose in your browser, on your device. It is never uploaded: the site has no code running on a server, and its host only sends out the site's own files. Every figure, map, video and image is worked out on your device, and the video and image go only where you save or share them. Closing the tab forgets the archive.
The page carries a Content-Security-Policy that allows it to contact only its own address and the map tile server below, so your browser itself would block any attempt to send something anywhere else.
What stays in your browser
No cookies, no analytics, no account. The site keeps five choices in your browser's local storage, so they are still there on your next visit: language, light or dark theme, units, the measure the charts use, and whether maps are shown. They never leave your device, and clearing this site's data in your browser removes them.
Maps
The place maps, and the map in the video or the image if you add it, are drawn from OpenFreeMap tiles. To get them, your browser asks tiles.openfreemap.org for the tiles of the area on screen. Like any website, OpenFreeMap sees your IP address and those requests, so it can tell which area you are looking at, which is often where you train. Nothing else is sent: not your archive, not your routes. OpenFreeMap says it keeps no IP addresses in its access logs and sets no cookies (its privacy policy).
Maps load only once an archive or the example is open, as each one comes into view. Tracks only, above the place maps, turns them off everywhere, and the page then contacts nothing but its own address.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. As for any website, Cloudflare handles your IP address and the details of each request (the address asked for, your browser) to deliver the pages and to protect the site from attacks. Toposfyr does not use Cloudflare's visitor analytics and has no access to individual visitor logs. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Your rights
Toposfyr holds no personal data about you: no archive, no account, no visit logs. For what OpenFreeMap and Cloudflare process, their privacy policies explain how to exercise your rights under the GDPR. For any question about this page, write through the contact page on toposfyr.com.
